Kamp Pag-asa is a project of the City Council on Disability Affairs (CCDA) chaired by the City Mayor and co-chaired by SP Committee on Social Services and Davao Jubilee Foundation and Rehabilitation for the Disabled with the member agencies comprising of government and non-government organizations. This year marks its 16th annual celebration entitled “16th Kamp Pag-asa, an on-going live-in summer camp for children with special needs.”

It was held at Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School, D. Ponce St., Davao City, from April 9-15, 2015. About 70 campers and 137 volunteers and supporterswitnessed and participated the festive-like activities of the camp namely: (1) Camper’s health checkup and assessment; (2) Maskaradahan sa Kadalanan; (3) Kultura Night & Church Rite, which was the highlight event of the day wherein campers with the help of their volunteers were given the chance to showcase the different culture of our country; (4) Field Trip at Campo Agua, Toril and Diskohan; (5) Pasasalamat at Pagtatapos wherein the children received their certificates and ribbons which serves a s the fruit of their 6-days camp at SM Annex Ecoland, Davao City.

With everyone’s support, the volunteers, members of CCDA, stakeholders, and sponsors, the 6-days camp was very successful. It provides the children the opportunity to live along with other members of the community. Most of all it opened more hearts and mind for children with special needs.
