Purok 2 (BRYCO) of Barangay 5A was hit by fire, yesterday, January 15, 2020, at around 11:00 in the morning. For further validation, around 350 families were affected by the fire. Immediately, the City Social Services & Development Office, led by Department Head II, Maria Luisa T. Bermudo, put up a Disaster Operation Center to centralize the command and responsible for carrying out the services of the agency and the city as a whole.
Kusina ng Bayan prepared hot meals for victims. While the interview and validation were being conducted, ECCD Mobile and Day Care Workers provided stress debriefing activities such as play, draw & tell and storytelling to children in the Child-Friendly Space. City A District Staff, Day Care Workers, Social Workers led by Minda Silvano, District Head, were the frontline in providing services to the fire victims. Food packs were distributed to the families.
